Caviar is DoorDash's restaurant-only app for about twenty metro areas, with the better restaurants in each and the same account system underneath. That matters for codes: a "first order" on Caviar means first order with DoorDash too, by name, phone, card or email. Caviar's own App Store listing advertises a free first delivery and $10 off a first order of $35 or more with TENONFOOD, and the coupon sites add a long list of word codes, some of them from Caviar's 2020 to 2022 promotions. I gathered twelve on Oct 29 with where each was seen, and on Oct 30 each went into a real order: all twelve applied, the old ones included. They're retested every morning.

This is the offer in Caviar's own app listing rather than a coupon-site claim, which is why it leads. Make an account, build an order of $35 or more in food, and enter TENONFOOD in the promo box at checkout; the free first delivery is applied on its own. It applied on the Oct 30 test and sits in the table below with the time it was checked; listings go stale and this one is DoorDash's to change, so it's retested every morning.
Fine print: First-time users only, and DoorDash's definition counts any prior DoorDash or Caviar order under your name, email, phone or card. $35 is food before fees, tax and tip. One per person; codes never apply to alcohol.

Caviar ran its own named codes for years (OHHEY50, HEYCAVIAR50, BF15, HWEEN20 and a dozen more through 2022), which is why the coupon sites still carry so many words for it, and on the Oct 30 test even the 2020 ones applied. Three more on the same pages were for other merchants and I left them off. DoorDash's own promotions aren't guaranteed to work in the Caviar app, and at least one in 2024 said so outright, so a DoorDash code isn't automatically a Caviar code. Something fail for you? Caviar deals for existing users
Caviar's existing-user savings are DoorDash's, with one twist:
- DashPass works on Caviar. $9.99 a month or $96 a year, $0 delivery fees and reduced service fees on orders of $12 or more from eligible restaurants. Sign in to Caviar with your DoorDash login and it's already on.
- Pickup has no service fee. Caviar charges a percentage service fee on delivery and none on pickup, and DashPass members get 5% back on pickup orders as Caviar credit.
- Chase Sapphire cardholders get DashPass free through 2029 and the benefits apply in Caviar, though the Chase-only monthly promos don't show in the Caviar app.
- Students pay $4.99 a month for DashPass with verification.
- Restaurant-level offers. Some Caviar restaurant pages carry a $0 delivery fee on your first order from that restaurant; it shows as a badge on the page.
How to apply a Caviar promo code
- Build the order, go to checkout, and open Promo codes, rewards & gift cards (on the phone, tap the promo line near the total).
- Type the code exactly; DoorDash's codes are case-sensitive. Some promos apply on their own at the final checkout screen once the order meets the conditions.
- Check the promo line above the total. No line, no discount.
- A gift card goes under Account, then Gift Cards, then Redeem, not in the promo box; a PIN typed as a code just errors.
DashPass
Caviar uses DoorDash's membership. $9.99 a month or $96 a year, $0 delivery fees and lower service fees on orders of $12 or more from DashPass restaurants, 5% back on pickup orders as credit, and a free trial for anyone who has never had it. The same subscription covers both apps with one login, so if you already pay for DashPass on DoorDash, Caviar is included. Students: $4.99 a month.

Where Caviar delivers
Caviar's current service list is twenty regions: Boston, Brooklyn and Queens, Manhattan, Chicago, Dallas, Fort Worth, Philadelphia and Greater Philadelphia, South Jersey, Los Angeles, San Diego, San Francisco, the East Bay, the Peninsula, Marin County, Sacramento, Portland, Seattle and the Seattle east side, and the Washington DC metro. It has pulled out of a few suburbs since 2022, so if the app shows nothing near you, that's why, and the same restaurants are usually on DoorDash.
Why your Caviar promo code says "invalid"
- You've used DoorDash. First-time codes check name, email, phone and card across DoorDash and Caviar together. A DoorDash order in 2021 makes you an existing Caviar user.
- Condition not met. The subtotal minimum is food before tax and fees; some codes also need a particular restaurant or a time window.
- It expired. DoorDash codes without a printed date expire 30 days after they were last shown to you, and a code used on a cancelled order can't be reused.
- It's a DoorDash promo, not one from the table. Some DoorDash offers aren't redeemable in the Caviar app; the table above is the set that applied in Caviar this morning.
- Alcohol in the order. Codes never apply to alcohol.

Is there a Caviar promo code for existing users?
Caviar's own offers are for first orders. For existing users the savings are DashPass, which works in Caviar with your DoorDash login, and pickup, which has no service fee and earns DashPass credit. The coupon-site codes that aren't marked first-order are in the table above with the result of my test.
Do DoorDash promo codes work on Caviar?
Not reliably. The accounts and the promo terms are DoorDash's, but some DoorDash promotions are excluded from the Caviar app, and DoorDash doesn't publish a rule either way. When a DoorDash code applies in Caviar on my test, it goes in the table above.
