Rent a truck or trailer one way and U-Haul gives you the first month free at a participating self-storage location, with no deposit and no admin fee. It's redeemable at any U-Haul-owned location that offers it, not only where you drop the truck. On a move where you'd otherwise pay $100 to $200 for a month of storage while you sort the new place out, this is the biggest U-Haul discount there is.
Fine print: One-way rentals only. Participating locations; ask when you book and again at drop-off. The free month is the first month of a new rental, and standard rates apply after it.

- 20% off Wyndham hotels on a one-way move. U-Haul customers get 20% off the best available rate at Wyndham Hotel Group properties (Days Inn, Super 8, La Quinta, Ramada and the rest) with an advance reservation. The discount is noted on one-way contracts; mention it when you book the room.
- Towing combo discount. Rent a trailer or tow dolly together with a truck and U-Haul discounts the combination against renting them separately.
- Extra days and miles on in-town rentals. Cargo vans and 8-foot pickups have special rates for extra days and miles when you pick up and return at the same location, which can beat a one-way rate on a short move.
